Back to Work

So, I went back to work last Monday. I was definitely a bit stressed trying to make sure that I had everything in order to return to work - bottles, diapers, extra clothes, and blankets for all. I made sure that all was packed up on Sunday night to make the morning go as smoothly as possible. Getting me and 2 kiddos ready for the day and out the door around 6:30am is tough, but we managed to do it 5 days in a row and I made it to work on time every day - HOORAY!

Piper had spent half days at daycare the week before so everyone was familiar with her and she had some experience there. I was most worried about her taking a bottle, but she has been doing ok. She still takes a series of shorter naps during the day, but I'm sure that she will be taking 2 longer naps soon (I hope!) She did come down with a little bit of a cold on Wednesday, but is already doing much better - I'm guessing that all the little daycare bugs are in our house already . . .

Catch Up . . .
Let's take a moment to catch up on what we have been up to:

Annika is doing pretty well with potty training. She is still having accidents, but we are hanging in there. She has even woken up dry from some naps and in the morning! YEAH!

Cartoon position

We have started watching Saturday morning cartoons . . . Annika is a fan of the "Doodle Bops" and "Busy Town Mysteries". She also loves watching "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse" on the iPad (YouTube). She is beginning to identify the different Disney characters - Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, and Goofy. I think we may be getting close to a Disney trip - it will blow her mind!

Piper is having more "awake" times and needs some entertaining. We had an activity mat for Annika, but it had seen better days. Grandma E bought her this new activity center - which converts so that she can play with it when she is older and sitting up too!

Of course, Annika likes to show her how it's done!

Nana and Piper
We had a visit from Nana and Papa a couple of weeks ago. Of course it was one of the hottest weekends! We managed to keep cool and entertain Annika by going to an indoor mall with a carousel and play area:

Having a blast! (and staying cool)
As I get back in the swing of things, I will hopefully be able to update this blog a bit more often. I have lots of ideas (as I'm driving around, showering, drifting off to sleep); it's just a matter of finding the time to get my thoughts out . . .
