Why "Our Brownies"?
Many people talk about having a "bun in the oven" when they are pregnant. When your last name is Brown, it makes sense that you have "brownies" in your "oven". We referred to both Annika and Piper as "brownies" when we were pregnant. Therefore, when it was time to come up with a web address for the new blog to tell the stories of our girls, "Our Brownies" made sense.

Nicknames

Annika (aka Nikki): I really wanted to avoid having a little red headed girl called "Annie" so when Phil said Nikki, I thought that was the perfect way to shorten Annika. And, at this point, I think it fits her personality perfectly.

Piper (aka Pepper): When we first introduced Nikki to her new little sister, she tried to say Piper, but it sounded more like Pepper. There aren't many ways to shorten Piper, so Pepper has kind of stuck as her nickname. Although, "Pip-Squeak" is another good one that Nana really likes, particularly since she makes a lot of funny little noises while she is sleeping.

My Goals

• Weekly: I'm hoping to provide weekly updates and stories (2 kids, a full-time job, etc. - we'll see how this goes)
• More information: I'm also hoping to provide more information about what we are up to, the challenges we are facing, and the FUN we are having! (Again, 2 kids, a full-time job, etc. - we'll see how I do)
